typography
I love when typography is used creatively in design.
One website http://store.axismaps.com/ makes typographic maps of cities, and they’ve done one of Chicago (that I love)
Another website I’ve stumbled upon is http://www.orkposters.com/ which does neighborhoods from around the world, and the brain & heart.

curtain hardware
I finally received my Urban Outfitters curtain hardware (which was on back order) The one downside is they don’t give you screws, so I used some gold nailpolish to blend my screws in with the base. They look really nice on the wall, and hold my curtains back nicely… a lot nicer than other hardware I’ve seen.

Apple DIY
I thought this would be a fun ‘lil DIY to try:
I wanted to use pears, but sadly, the dollar store only had apples. I also purchased some matte modge podge, which I’m now convinced is the greatest thing ever invented.
I cut up an old book I didn’t need into long strips, medium stripes, and small squares. I then brushed on the modge podge and began adding the strips to the...

Hemp vase
I decided to add some texture to an old glass vase I have. I was sick of the clear glass look, and thought adding texture would add some interest and warmth. I took some hemp string I had from my bracelet making days, and strung it evenly over the vase. It was a bit tedious, and I had to glue the ends so it wouldn’t unravel. Overall, I’m pleased with the end result!

Piggy bank
Great find at Pottery Barn today!
I saw this in the SALE section, and thought it would be a perfect addition to my office.
Sadly, my old piggy bank (a blue elephant I got as a gift in Poland) shattered into a million pieces when it fell off my shelf. Luckily this new one is metal, so it’ll break my foot or dent the floor if it falls :)

Future DIY
I wanted to do something to my owl lamp shade to make it more interesting.
I found this DIY: http://tatertotsandjello.com/2011/02/guest-project-anthropologie-inspired.html
It’s a DIY inspired by this Anthropologie lamp shade:
But I’ll use black burlap, since the owl lamp is white with a black shade.

OWL LAMP
I am very excited for my new owl lamp. I found it at Target.com. I’ve been looking for a white owl lamp, and was happy to find this one for such a great price.
NEW OVER-THE-DOOR HOOK
I bought this at Urban Outfitters to hang my towels on. It matches my new headboard, and I like the nature/animal theme.
NEW CURTAINS (still in progress)
So I bought new plum curtains to...

book making
I ordered my second blurb book about Korea. This one was all about the kiddies from school :)
Necklace hooks
I decided to upgrade what my long necklaces hang on. Instead of tacks, I bought little silver wall hooks from Urban Outfitters. When they arrived in the mail, I was disappointed to find hunter green hooks instead of silver :(
After an inventory check, they were out of stock, so I decided to make the best of a bad situation, and spray painted those green hooks black.
I’m happy with how...

New furniture
This past weekend, I purchased a new dresser, nightstand, and desk. I was very happy to get rid of my old, broken, & outdated furniture from 5th grade :)

So I started designing the second blurb book of my time in Korea. This one is dedicated to the kids I taught for a year :)

zombie engagement
Since I work at a wedding photography company, it’s nice to see an engagement session that’s unique and creative. They seem like they had a lot of fun shooting these photos, and it was probably a lot of fun for the photographer to get to do something so out of the box. Enjoy!
These are actual engagement photos taken by photographer Amanda Rynda at http://www.amandarynda.com/blog/

Animals
A few months ago, out of boredom, I purchased a small sketchbook and started making lil doodles in it. Now, I’m trying to think of something cool to do with these illustrations. Since I had to scan them in, there’s only so much manipulating with color/background I can do. For now, they’re black and white… more to come later, for now enjoy the peacock.

Book making
The photo collages I made for my first blog inspired me on how to organize my photos from Korea. Using the website blurb.com, I designed a square (7x7) book. It’ll be 38 pages and a hardcover.
Here are a few of the final spreads, so you can get an idea of what the rest of the book will look like. I had a lot of fun making this book. Since this one will only feature my traveling/sightseeing...

Feeling nostalgic
This past year I was in Korea teaching at a private school in Yongin-Si. It was an amazing experience - one I am beginning to miss. I’ve been dreading organizing/printing/arranging all the photos and souvenirs I collected while abroad, so in an attempt to stop my procrastination, my very first tumblr post is dedicated to my photos from Korea.
These first few are of my babies. The kids I...
